About the Film

Three young women are fighting side by side for a seat in the Dutch House of Representatives in the run up to the elections. Each for a different party, for different ideals and with their own story. Yet they are united in their fight for equal representation. But that fight ain’t over yet.

Impact

Momentum has been screened on television multiple times in the run up to the Dutch elections. Moreover,  we worked together with different NGO’s, think tanks and political organizations to organize fa dozen cinema screenings with Q&A sessions across the country. The goal of these Q&A sessions was not to talk about the film but prolong the discussion that Momentum provokes. These discussion screenings have gained a lot of media attention (publications in Vice, Volkskrant, VPRO gids) and helped to boost the debate on equal representation in Dutch politics. Momentum has achieved to show the representation flaws of our political elections without victimizing the characters. The ‘Stem Op een Vrouw’ foundation celebrated it with a special screening for 600 young politicians in the run up to the elections and uses it as eductional material for newcomers.
